At MRI, Corporate Responsibility is not an afterthought, but a core value.
We recognize the recent tragic history of the Island of Bougainville, and we
are determined to do things not only differently but also better.
We have made working with the Landowners Groups our priority, even
before the granting of any mining licenses. By partnering with the true
owners of the resources, we ensure that we are genuinely helping to meet
their needs for assistance, rather than imposing something of limited value
but which makes us feel better.
Wherever possible we strive to hand over the full value chain to our local
partners, ensuring the maximum benefits to the local communities.
